Ernie’s Bar & Grill is promoted as a Gastro-Pub and located at the PGA WEST public course Clubhouse. Ernie’s overlooks the TPC Pete Dye Stadium and Nicklaus Tournament courses.
The hallmark of Gastro-Pub fare is its twist on familiar food, all made from scratch with palette-arousing ingredients. Ernie’s offers both a casual and refined atmosphere that welcomes the beer drinker, the wine enthusiast or the hipster looking for a cocktail.
Roomy booths as well as low and high-top tables are positioned for watching sports on TVs and for enjoying golf course views. The large patio boasts both outdoor living room furniture and table dining. Two gas fire pits provide an inviting area to relax, unwind, and socialize around.
Our Recent Dining Experience
Bill and I gave Ernie’s a try for dinner recently. We enjoyed the atmosphere on a fairly quiet evening but the food and service was just a bit off. We sampled two entrees and an appetizer and found everything over salted. Regarding service, we found it necessary to raise our hand when we needed something, including our table setups.
Our thinking is that Ernie’s would be a great spot for lunch, especially on the patio overlooking the action on the two #18 greens of both courses. While we’re not sure about trying it for dinner again, maybe we hit Ernie’s on an off night. Let me know what you think.
